Peder, Brad & Samantha. Order of the day for lunch was a pie ! & a beer at the pub. Great pies & slices at Blackbutt Bakery.

I dropped Brad off in Yarraman, so he could mountain bike through Brisbane Valley Rail Trail ( 20k) back to camp . Lionel arrived just after 5 - he missed the 10min downpour we got .

We made a fire & had our dinner & watched the Broncos win their first game of the season.

Saturday morning we left camp at 8.30am & made headway toward the diggings. We first made a quick stop at the butcher in Yarraman & bought a few snags & steaks .Yum.

We found lots of rocky roads which required the lads to direct each other up or down the tracks. We found a great rocky gorge which was picturesque.  A Subaru which had been skull dragged through rough terrain & pushed over ( clearly stolen & had children's toys & clothes inside.) We could've turned back at this point , but Lionel said lets give the dry creek crossing a go - which we all did easily with some direction.

This area was a nice sandy waterhole ,if we had our swimmers we could have had a dip. We managed to make our way back to where we started by 1.30 .

We decided a cool beer in Nanango was called for,  Ahh lovely. We also spotted folk having 'carriage driving lessons'( they were too quick for a photo) Back at showgrounds for a shower & rest. This time it was the Cowboys footy game & they had a win too .

We went to the pub for dinner & all enjoyed our meals. Back at camp & Brad made a fire. Sunday we drove into the pine forest but it was full of lantana & just basic so we gave it a miss. Lionel & Peder headed home . Sam & Brad had a cool swim in Cooyar Creek.

Thanks for leading the trip Peder. The camp at showgrounds was pretty good .

Till next time. Samantha Taylor
