Glastonbury Camp Trip Report
31st October 2023
Glastonbury creek trip report.
It was great October weekend.
Peder and Steve R arrived early on Thursday, Peder found a great part of the park with ample shade and near a decent fire pit.
Friday arrived with another gorgeous day. The cows were close by eating the excess grass around the park.
Jim and Karen, Steve G and Sandra, Kerry and Dani arrived later in the day, A cold night was to be had but Dinner, Drinks, a cheese platter and tall tales were devoured around the warm camp fire.
Craig turned up with his “mission control” caravan with satellite dish and all! Special mention of its fabulous blue lit handle. Every one was very envious of this great piece of machinery.
Every one hit the hay with great expectations of the next day.
We all woke to the sounds of the black cockatoos and other feathered friends. The smell of bacon, sausages and eggs filled the campsite all morning.
Four wheel driving was now on the menu. Jim sat us all down for our pre drive briefing. Telling us all about our trip and when we will be back.
The 4wd adventure moved to all corners of the national park with some blue and black runs thrown in to keep us on our toes!
Our trip leader found a big wash out and decided it needed a closer inspection. While Steve R came to the rescue and winched the meager patrol back out with his mighty Prado.
It was a great day full of adventure and camaraderie, we all had a blast. A special thanks goes out to Jim the trip leader, Steve G for searching some unknown tracks, and tail end Peder.
Back at camp, we found the girls had gone on a great hike up the mountain and spent some time in the creek to cool down after the hike.
That evening some shenanigans were to be had with a game of cards against humanity’s, molke and badminton. Then we were all spoilt with many cheese platters, more tales of perennial sun bathing and bragging about the earlier conquests the boys and Dani had been through.
Another early night was taken advantage of due to all of the earlier fun and games.
Sunday morning showed us another glorious day.
Steve R and Dani were the first to pack up and hit the black top on their way home.
But overall it was a relaxing, revitalizing weekend full of laughs and adventure.
Thank you to all that attended and made it a memorable weekend.
Cheers
Steve & Danni
