Mothar Mountain Trip Report

Woodnum National Park is a small, pretty forested area near Pomona with a few short easy drives, with the exception of one gnarly side track which I'll get to in a minute.
We assembled in the chilly Autumn air at the park for the briefing before heading a short way out of town to deflate our tyres, near the commencement of Track 3.

This track has an easy and a difficult side. A few cars chose the rougher path which was quite slippery due to the recent rain. Unfortunately one of Nigel's CV joints gave out and the car got stuck in a particularly difficult spot. It took a couple of hours to get the car onto level ground before we could replace the wheel and proceed on our way.

After a pleasant lunch stop at the rock pools we continued our trip around the park, noting a few promising tracks off to the side for future exploration.

Thanks to everyone who attended, especially our new members, and Rob for organising and running the event.
